The town where the river Pader is born

Paderborn's history dates back to medieval times. Its first mention was in 777 when Charlemagne, king of the Franks who ruled from 768 to 814, held an Assembly at the location. From a village in the 8th century to a town in the 10th century, Paderborn is known for being the place where the shortest river in Germany, Pader, is born.

Today this city in the North Rhine-Westphalia state is relevant in the information technology field, with several IT firms headquartered there.
