Located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Bochum is a large city rich in culture and history. Bochum is the second-largest city in Westphalia, situated between Essen and Dortmund. Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Neo-Gothic architecture can be seen in churches and other buildings in the city, and there are a number of public art pieces, too.

Bochum is a busy city with 370,797 residents. There are seven universities including Applied Sciences, Technical, and Health Professions institutes.
