Technical University of Munich

Ecological Engineering
Subjects: Ecology;Engineering;Environment
M.Sc. | Master of Science
Course description
The course centers on the ecosystem approach, linking various land use systems. Around the globe, different land uses vie for limited space. Here, the ecosystem approach aids political decisions with evidence-based models. Innovative solutions must address competing demands and understand interactions within and between ecosystems at multiple scales—from individual plots to landscapes to global levels. Effective ecosystem management examines these interdependencies, unites key stakeholders, and develops concepts through interdisciplinary methods. This includes resource-saving, integrative cultivation systems in agriculture and forestry, as well as ecologically sound solutions for wastewater treatment and natural flood protection. Study subjects include ecosystem management, land use systems, and interdisciplinary approaches. The study program names might be Environmental Science, Sustainable Agriculture, or Natural Resource Management.
